Oak Blade extending dining table.

The Blade Table is effortlessly elegant. Our design team has taken inspiration form the 1920s and the exquisite lines of art deco, while cleverly mixing in modern brutalism, a unique mix of alchemy only found at Made By 68º.

Our latest commission proved to be a design and an engineering challenge. This particular dining table extends from 3metres to 4.5metres, while maintaining a very small footprint. Extending solid sections of oak past the supports, while maintaining a solid table surface required the team to re-think every aspect of traditional table making process. 

The table is made in oak and bronze. and seats 20 diners in complete comfort. The centre extension has been designed so that it is housed within the table. To extend the table, the user simply pulls each end gently apart to reveal the additional leaves.

The mechanism has been designed so that one person is easily able to fold out the extending element. The outer leaves are then pushed together giving an uninterrupted 4500mm dining table.
